Where it started
Frederick Ham Snr had a scrap metal recycling center near Orpington where scrap cars were taken in , large constructional steels along with anything else you might typically find come through the doors in metal recycling industry. He also set up a demolition company which his son Fred Jr became apart of taking down buildings in and around south London, They took down various big buildings in the City too.
Director
Fred Junior decided to move down the the south coast to set up
Hav-A-Skip
which is the waste recycling side of the company. Things got busier with the skips and as time went on Fred Jr realized that he was seeing a huge amount of metal come from the skips.
This is when he decided to set up the scrap metal side of the company . His father Fred Snr supplied him with great knowledge in his younger years which meant this was a great step forward to add this service on the side of the waste recycling.
After some time more and more customers kept coming in and he started to see regulars keep coming back and things began to move along. More machinery was being put in place to help make the sorting of metals easier and some added staff came in to start processing it.
3rd Generation
Fred Jrs sons Freddie and Darcy joined the team in 2016 working from the ground, sorting/ cutting , machine operating, buying and selling right the way up to now managing the company. They have pushed the company on to modernizing it and starting it from where there dad left off. They gained affiliations with the BMRA and made connections with some long long standing customers.
